关于我们
California Rehabilitation Institute is a 138-bed all-private-room inpatient acute physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital located in the Century City area of Los Angeles. Our compassionate, caring, physician-led team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and specialized nursing staff are committed 24/7 to bringing advanced acute rehabilitation care to our patients - when they need it the most. We are dedicated to helping each one of our patients recover the strength, skills and independence to return home, and to rebuild their lives. California Rehabilitation Institute sponsored the pro wheelchair race at the 40th annual Los Angeles Marathon on March 16. The week before the race, patients and staff celebrated the marathon spirit with race-themed activities and treats. Discharging patients received special “Cal Rehab Marathon Week” medals. A team of five individuals – including two former patients, one staff member and two friends of the hospital – together raised $4,087 for Cal Rehab’s nonprofit, California Rehabilitation Foundation. The organization provides charitable financial assistance and supports education, research and innovative technologies to improve the overall quality of life for those with physical medicine and rehabilitation needs. Participants included former Cal Rehab patients Jose Nunez and Ta’Mara Aarin, as Aarin completed her second LA Marathon since suffering a stroke in 2020. Cal Rehab physical therapist Celina Lake also completed the race, while Samuel Cohen and Steve Pham rounded out the team of five representing the Cal Rehab Foundation. Cal Rehab and the Cal Rehab Foundation are proud of and grateful for these individuals and their efforts.

Food plays a significant role in our lives and health. On Registered Dietitian Day we celebrate the impact our dietitians have on patient recovery. They coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the patient’s nutrition supports their treatment plan. Personalized menus address dietary needs such as low sodium for heart health or high protein for building muscles and healing wounds. When patients have difficulty swallowing, dietitians work closely with speech-language pathologists to create modified textured meals and ensure safety in swallowing. A return to eating and enjoying favorite foods again marks a milestone in recovery and quality of life. #RDNday #NationalNutritionDay #RDN #DietitianDay

In the seconds it took a UTV to crash, Jackson Robbennolt went from vibrant college freshman to critically injured ICU patient. As Jackson, 19, lay in a vegetative state, physicians told his parents it was unlikely he would awaken. But, illustrating that the brain has incredible ability to recover, Jackson proved them wrong. The South Dakota teen spent nine months in four hospitals but is now home and making his way back to South Dakota State University. Every nine seconds, someone in the United States sustains a brain injury, according to the Brain Injury Association of America. Falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, assaults or other forceful blows to the head can cause traumatic brain injuries. Strokes, brain tumors or infections, drownings, exposure to toxins or other injuries caused by lack of oxygen can cause non-traumatic brain injuries. Both types of brain injuries change a person’s life in an instant. Select Medical’s nationwide network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals care for the wide-ranging impacts of brain injuries to help patients and their families recover. Discover how we help patients regain the ability to think, talk, eat and walk following a brain injury with individualized care plans directed by clinical experts: https://bit.ly/3D77rCj #BrainInjuryAwarenessMonth #traumaticbraininjury #braininjury
