?? As Thanksgiving approaches, let’s talk turkey! Did you know 88% of us will enjoy turkey this holiday? While most are farm-raised, wild turkeys thrive in grasslands and woodlands across 49 states. ?? Grasslands are crucial for young turkeys, providing cover, food, and space to grow. Proper land management, like prescribed fire and grazing, ensures their habitats remain healthy and abundant for wildlife. ???? #Turkey #RangelandMatters #conservation

Ever had someone say something that didn’t really sink in until later? That happened to Rangeland Trust CEO Michael Delbar on a flight home from the National Cattlemen’s Convention, when a traveling nurse noticed his cowboy hat on his lap. He told her that he worked for an agricultural land trust and that his family raises cattle and sheep. She smiled and said, “Thank you for feeding us.” In that simple sentence, she acknowledged the deep connections between all of us—whether ranchers, nurses, teachers, or truck drivers. It reminds us how vital ranchers are, not just for producing food but for protecting open spaces, wildlife, and natural resources. Healthy rangelands ensure clean water, food security, and climate resilience, benefiting everyone. Without them, we risk losing the very resources that keep our communities thriving. We invite you to consider making a gift today and help safeguard our life-giving rangelands. https://loom.ly/5FMjQWU #KeepRanchersRanching #RangelandMatters #LifeGivingLand

When a landowner chooses to conserve their property with the California Rangeland Trust, they bring unique reasons to the table—whether it’s for financial relief, to buy out family members, or to manage hefty taxes. But there’s always a common thread: a deep commitment to preserving their land for ranching and open space, forever. We tip our hats to all our landowner partners for their dedication to safeguarding natural resources and helping to feed the world. #KeepRanchersRanching #conservation #RangelandMatters #ResilientRanchers

Last week, Dusty and our Rangeland Stewardship Manager, Mikie McDonnell, made a trip to the Nakagawa Ranch in Calaveras County for the ranch's annual monitoring. While there, they were able to present the Nakagawas with their easement sign that will stand at the front of the property to show the couple's commitment to protecting their ranch for generations to come. If you want to learn more about the Nakagawas' conservation story, you can read it here: https://loom.ly/rPNbQvI #KeepRanchersRanching #100ranches #conservation
