The California Policy Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (CPCIDD) is a non-partisan think tank established to inform, support, and improve upon statewide policies that impact the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Center’s focus is to identify priorities and challenges within the IDD community and provide policy recommendations based on objective, evidence-based research, data, and policy analysis to help inform the community, as well as the policymaking process.

A new Peppa the Pig theme park in Dallas is focused on accessibility welcoming kids with disabilities. All team members have had Autism awareness training, rides are also wheelchair accessible, and the park has quiet spaces for when guests need a break. Angel Love Miles: Born with Spina Bifida, Angel is an advocate for disability rights and has written extensively about the intersection of race, gender, and disability. 2. Muhammad Ali: The legendary boxer struggled with severe dyslexia, which impacted his academic performance but did not hinder his remarkable career and advocacy for literacy. 3. Harriet Tubman: Known for her work on the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman had severe epilepsy, which she developed after a traumatic head injury in childhood. 4. Haben Girma: The first deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School, Haben is a disability rights advocate and has been recognized for her work in promoting accessibility and inclusion.
