California LTAP

The California LTAP Center, located at the Center for International Trade & Transportation at California State University, Long Beach, works to improve the safety and performance of our state’s roadway transportation systems through the delivery of specialized training, dissemination of policy and regulatory guidance, strategies for institutional knowledge transfer, and spotlighting of local agency innovation, all executed with a keen focus on equity, sustainability, roadway safety, and accountability. In California, the audience for LTAP services includes over 600 local public agencies responsible for maintaining the local roads of our state’s 58 counties (482 municipalities), each generally comprised of cities, regional transportation planning agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, towns, special districts, and tribal communities. We support these agencies in the execution of their missions through professional development and by improving their experience interfacing with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
