Hydrogen Means Business in California
关于我们
Vision Statement To bring a deeper understanding of the use of hydrogen in energy and transportation to a variety of market segments, the California Hydrogen Business Council facilitates meetings, networking, and solutions. Our members are poised to directly implement the technology and service solutions necessary to make the hydrogen economy an environmental and commercial success. Vision of a Hydrogen Economy Hydrogen offers the promise of a safe, sustainable energy supply that can be produced domestically. Using hydrogen in transportation and stationary power applications will reduce dependence on foreign oil and positively impact U.S. balance of trade. When hydrogen is produced from renewable sources and used in a fuel cell to create electric power, it does not contribute to global warming. When reformed and used in internal combustion engines, it greatly reduces carbon, nitrous oxides (NOx), and other harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Each year, 500 billion cubic meters of hydrogen are produced. Its use is growing rapidly. CHBC Makes the Vision a Reality The California Hydrogen Business Council actively supports hydrogen's growing commercial use, new applications, and the transition of our energy infrastructure. The CHBC is rallying financial, insurance, and regulatory organizations to support businesses that provide hydrogen products and services.

We are proud to celebrate Cory Shumaker, MBA for his decade of dedication to advancing the #hydrogen and #fuelcell industry with CHBC. Thank you for your commitment to growing the #hydrogenindustry in California and beyond!? #CaliforniaHydrogen?
This month, it brings me great pleasure to celebrate my 10-year ongoing tenure with the California Hydrogen Business Council! It's been a joy and an honor to represent the California Hydrogen Business Council in California, nationally and internationally for a decade. Being with CHBC has brought me countless connections, some lifelong friendships and amazing opportunities to collaborate with?fellow?industry members to further?hydrogen,?my passion, across many sectors. In this moment, as I look back on my time as CHBC staff, all I can do is feel?proud and?grateful for?my?experiences and?the opportunity to be part of?continuous efforts?to further the hydrogen industry. I also can't help but feel a large amount of gratitude to all the people who have been a part of my CHBC journey, especially to?CHBC President & CEO Katrina Fritz, and former Executive Directors Jeff Serfass and William Zobel who always encouraged my various pursuits in the industry over the years. I'm also grateful to the entire CHBC team (Tim McRae, Erika Marohn, Brian Schorr) and those I've worked with in the past (Emanuel Wagner, Sara Fitzsimon, Jennifer Hamilton). Lastly, this can all be brought back to a brief conversation with Tyson Eckerle at California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) after attending the 2014 CHBC Fall Summit talking about my first employer in hydrogen,?Vision Industries Corp, which led to his recommendation to Jeff Serfass for me to assist the CHBC with its mission in California; and the rest is history. I have seen so much evolution and growth in the #hydrogen and #fuelcell industry and have?plenty?of reasons to be optimistic despite the challenges we face today. I look forward?to continuing to carry the hydrogen torch forward with my colleagues at the CHBC and adding to this tenure! #teamhydrogen?#CaliforniaHydrogen

?? Scaling #cleanhydrogen requires action—now.? New analysis from the Hydrogen Council, developed with McKinsey & Company, finds that a significant amount of #hydrogen demand could be unlocked by 2030 across the EU, US, and East Asia if existing policies are effectively implemented. But to get there, some practical steps need to be taken.?? ?? The transposition of the EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDIII) at EU country level, rollout of Japan’s Contracts for Difference mechanism (CfD) and South Korea’s Clean Hydrogen Portfolio Standard (CHPS), and implementation of hydrogen-related sections of the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) could unlock ~8 Mt p.a. of clean hydrogen in these respective regions within the next five years.? ?? Near-term policy implementation and infrastructure expansion can drive adoption—but further efforts are needed to reduce costs and bridge gaps. Expanding CCS networks, #hydrogenrefueling infrastructure, and lowering clean #hydrogenproduction costs in these regions could unlock an additional ~13 Mt p.a. in existing sectors like refining and ammonia, and emerging use cases such as #trucking.? ?? Unlocking demand in #maritime, #aviation, and other hard-to-abate sectors with few alternatives depends on continued action in the near-term to bridge cost gap and enable infrastructure development.? ??Read the full report to learn more about the practical solutions to unlocking clean hydrogen demand: https://lnkd.in/eSzUR9X9? ?#ClosingTheCostGap??
