California has new challenges it is looking to solve using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). Governor Newsom announced the next steps and GovOps will help seek out solutions with the innovator community. We had such an overwhelming response the first time and expect that to continue as we explore this emerging technology. “The innovator community jumped at the chance to partner with the state to explore if GenAI can benefit our residents and our workforce,”?said Government Operations Agency Secretary Amy Tong.?“This overwhelming response, along with the ongoing work, shows us that we can embrace GenAI’s many opportunities while taking appropriate measures to approach it safely and responsibly.” https://lnkd.in/dTzn57Hp

Secretary Tong was proud to take part in this morning's plenary session at the National ACE 2024 AAPISTRONG Annual Conference in Santa Clara. She shared her admiration for the many small business owners and leaders attending, and praised their innovative nature and entrepreneurship across generations in our communities. A heartfelt thank you for the warm welcome and the opportunity to speak with such inspring people. You truly are shaping the future.

Today's event in Sacramento's Natomas area is just the latest in the state's progress to bring affordable, high speed internet to all Californians. GovOps and CDT are grateful to have such commited partners like CPUC, Caltrans and Arcadian Infracom in making Broadband for All a reality. Last week it was Willits, today was Sacramento and we look forward to highlighting the progress in many more communities across the state.

What a day at yesterday's Government Innovation Summit. Secretary Tong was proud to join with many leaders in state government, but most of all appreciated the opportunity to recognize the innovative work being done across California by state employees. She welcomed the chance to present the Innovator of the Year award and is already looking forward to next year's event. We congratulate all of those honored and especially want to thank the teams from GovOps and the Office of Data and Innovation who helped pull of such a memorable event.

This position will assist in the management and development of the CalEngage Program, Generative AI (Gen AI) Outreach, and other External Affairs functions for the agency. Thanks so much for helping us share how California is taking bold steps with Generative Artificial Intelligence, or GenAI. The state is embracing this emerging technology and doing it safely and responsibly through Governor Newsom's GenAI Executive Order. The Governor's Executive Order has resulted in GovOps working across state government to bring GenAI proofs of concept to fruition to see how the technology can help ALL Californians. That includes our dedicated workforce, vulnerable and marginalized communities, and everyone else we serve each day.
