The California Fire Safe Council is devastated beyond words by the wildfires impacting Southern California. We want to extend our deepest sympathies to those whose worlds have been turned upside down by these wildfires. Nothing highlights the importance of community and collaboration more than moments like this. It’s in these moments that we see people rise up to help their neighbors, and where people find common ground in their shared grief, community bonds, and collective journey towards recovery. The California Fire Safe Council works hard to bridge local and state efforts to empower communities with funding, technical assistance, tools, and resources to live safely with wildfire. Events like this show us that fostering community-level action and collaboration isn’t only effective in preparing for wildfires—it’s also essential in recovering from them. The California Fire Safe Council is actively coordinating with local Fire Safe Councils in the affected LA region to identify their most immediate needs for support. Please stay tuned.
