My home state of California is the 5th largest economy in the world (bigger than the UK in GDP terms). The situation here is complicated -- we have the highest relative poverty rate in the United States, despite being one of the most politically progressive states. This snapshot, the result of more than a year of research by the California Doughnut Economics Coalition, will offer a unique perspective on how California is faring in balancing essential social foundations with the ecological boundaries of our planet.
