Today we honor Veterans for their service. We are happy to announce a partnership with Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) and #CalITP benefitting Veterans. We launched a new pilot program to enable a new tap-to-pay discounts for Veterans that will start in 2025. Built using CDT's Digital Identity Framework, the program is now enrolling applicants who hold Veteran status. The Digital Identity Framework works on the back end to safely and securely verify your identity and personal information across agencies and websites without having multiple logins--making it easier to access services, information, and benefits. Learn more about the Digital Identity Framework: https://lnkd.in/gkS9Pw5G Learn about the SacRT Pilot: https://lnkd.in/gpseT24Q If you are a Veteran living in the SacRT service area, you can enroll now at: https://lnkd.in/gHH9q9rJ

?? Exciting News for California! ?? Today, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced its $70.2 million Digital Equity Capacity Grant for California. Today's virtual press conference with Samantha Silverberg, Alan Davidson, Charlie Meisch, and California State CIO Liana Bailey-Crimmins was a great moment to pause and celebrate our shared commitment to closing the digital divide. The California Department of Technology will use the Digital Equity Capacity Grant funds for two coordinated programs. First, is the collection and dissemination of free tools and resources that supplement existing digital equity and inclusion efforts across the state. Second, CDT will fund digital equity initiatives through a Digital Equity Capacity Sub-Grant Program that will provide funding to state and local organizations to develop local digital equity plans, offer digital navigation services and digital literacy training, support digital device distribution to underserved communities, and promote digital workforce development programs. These programs will help people in specific populations overcome barriers to digital equity, supporting inclusion in education, healthcare, career development, and access to essential government benefit programs Shout out to Scott Adams and CDT's Office of Broadband and Digital Literacy who have worked tirelessly with residents and stakeholders across the state to develop the Statewide Digital Equity Plan which enabled this $70.2 million award from the #BidenHarrisAdministration.
