About nine in 10 adults in the U.S. struggle to understand important information about their health care. Disproportionately impacting marginalized populations, including Medicaid members, limited health literacy contributes to poor health outcomes, greater costs, and even higher mortality rates. But there are best practices, standards, and new strategies that can help health care organizations better equip patients with important health care information and advance health equity. This September 24 panel will gather Medicaid stakeholders from state agencies, health plans, and at the community member level to explore opportunities to advance health equity through improved health literacy.
