The Department of Health Care Services is looking for a talented and motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Deputy Director (ADD), Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP), Career Executive Assignment Level B. The ADD, OSP, helps lead the planning, development, and implementation of large-scale Department initiatives that build new cross-sector strategic partnerships beyond Medi-Cal, including those with other departments, commercial insurers, and innovators in technology and philanthropy, such as the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), CalHOPE, Medi-Cal School-Based Services, and California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Justice-Involved Initiative (JII). The Chief, CERD, is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities for compliance reviews of health care plans, providers, and Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery Systems. In this role, the Chief, CERD, leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to program integrity of Medi-Cal and other DHCS programs. We are pleased to announce that Linette T. Scott, MD, MPH, Deputy Director and Chief Data Officer for Enterprise Data and Information Management at DHCS, was honored by UCLA’s Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR) at their 30th-anniversary celebration in Los Angeles on November 13, 2024. As one of 30 individuals honored for their support of CHPR over its history, Dr. Scott was recognized for her work in advancing health equity for California’s most vulnerable populations through data-driven insights. For more than 15 years, she has collaborated with CHPR on the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS). Reflecting on her work, Dr. Scott said, “"The work on CHIS and the reports and publications that have come from it have informed the California and national landscape for decades. CHIS has been innovative with survey methodology and processes to address survey response rates and engagement that keeps the information robust and meaningful for California. CHIS informs our work at DHCS across many of our programs as we continue to maximize coverage and deliver high-quality services."
