CCSA advocates for high-quality charter schools that are free, public and open to all.
关于我们
Our Mission: To meet parent, educator, and community need for great public school options by supporting and advocating for high-quality non-profit charter schools and sharing their success throughout California’s public schools. OUR MISSION COMMITS US TO EQUITY, OPPORTUNITY AND ACCESS As part of California’s public school family, CCSA embraces its history of being an advocacy organization advancing issues of social justice and civil rights. Our members and the teachers and administrators who serve in their schools value diversity in culture, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, and perspective. While we seek to grow a movement that serves all students, all families, and all communities, we work with a special spirit of urgency to provide our most historically underserved and vulnerable students with the high-quality public education they deserve. We join in common cause with those fighting both inside and outside of public education for greater equity, opportunity, and access for all.

A vast number of charter school students overcome incredible adversity to become the first in their families to graduate high school and pursue their college dreams. That’s why we applaud Governor Gavin Newsom for signing AB 1780 into law, which stops CA’s private nonprofit colleges from considering legacy and donor preferences in college admissions. CCSA proudly supported this bill, recognizing its importance in advancing equity for all students. #CAcharters

??As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we salute Myrna Castrejón, CCSA’s President and CEO. At 17, Myrna immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico. Despite the obstacles, she pursued her dream of a degree in anthropology. Her experiences along the U.S.-Mexico border led her to dedicate her life to ensuring all students have access to a quality education. ??Myrna is now one of the country’s most influential Latina leaders shaping charter public education. In this clip from CCSA’s CharterNation Podcast, Myrna reflects on her early years in the U.S. and the challenges faced by Latino families along the Texas border. ??Who is your inspirational Latino/a charter school educator? Drop us a line! #HispanicHeritageMonth #CAcharters
