I just attended a museum action hour with fellow California museum professionals. In this meeting, we reached out to local reps opposing the executive order to cut funds to the institute of museum and library services(IMLS). If you can, please call or email your elected officials and oppose the executive order. I will be doing so every day for the next few weeks! And I have scripts to provide for both. The contacts below are for California but I am happy to help you find your elected officials to call across the country.

Just made my calls and emails, in a very organized and streamlined Action Hour hosted by CAM! We were joined by over 75 museum professionals all speaking to their reps about opposing these cuts. Join CAM for another Action Hour tomorrow night, or reach out if you'd like the action item checklist to complete on your own time - doing so by March 21st will have the maximum impact.

Now is an ideal time to share exciting research supported by Institute of Museum and Library Services (#IMLSgrant) on the role of digital programming for young children. This project is a collaboration between the Association of Children's Museums, Rockman Et Al Cooperative, and Knology. The attached blog and survey report summarize findings from a national survey of parents and caregivers, exploring their interest in digital programming, the challenges they face, and the role children’s museums should play in developing such programs. #education #museums #digital #children
