Utility scams are common this time of year and growing more frequent throughout the rest of the year. To help avoid being scammed, there are three things you can do: ask for proper identification, thoroughly inspect the ID badge, and check the service person’s vehicle. A company ID badge and driver’s license can help verify that the person is who they say they are. American Water’s ID badge will display the person’s picture and company logo. Also, American Water vehicles will have our logo clearly displayed on the side. For more information about common scams and signs, visit https://lnkd.in/eBCUWJt.

Proud to have our Director of Engineering, Lacy Carothers, PE, speak at the NARUC Annual Meeting in Anaheim! ? Lacy was part of a panel discussion on “Microgrids: A Resilient and Sustainable Solution for Water Utilities,” moderated by the Honorable Naomi Kuwaye (Hawaii Public Utilities Commission) and with other panelists Deana Carrillo (California Energy Commission), Gene Rodrigues (U.S. Dept of Energy), and Leuwam Tesfai (California Public Utilities Commission). This was a fantastic opportunity to share our project with the California Water Association and Generac to bring on site battery storage to our facilities. The matching grants from the Department of Energy and California Energy Commission will bring this technology to our customers, help the environment, make our system more resilient and make water more afforadble for our customers. Thank you to Commissioner Kuwaye for brining this group together. ? We’re excited to be at the forefront of this important conversation and to contribute to the development of more resilient and sustainable water solutions.
