So, even the experts have things to learn. Shocking, right? Apparently, after 1 year, the content on your Company Page can disappear. This isn't blatantly advertised anywhere, like most things. We found out the fun way many people probably have by seeing a crapload of posts disappear in thin air. Sweet, right? Now we know and knowing is half the battle. Anyway, the thing to recognize in all of this is that you can pin posts that are important to you. We don't know that you can pin every post, but at least hopefully the best of the best. Again, it's not like these things are posted prominently and clearly at every turn. But you're not at the mercy of others either. Read on. If not more than 1-2 posts you could pin, it's also a GREAT reminder that you can always protect your content by putting it in at least one place you actually own, like your website and blog. Not just social media. What if it isn't worthy of such multiple posting? Then don't worry about it. Or maybe it isn't that special to begin with and shouldn't be posted in the first place. If it is worthy, take ownership of that content and be strategic about where it's placed. Like not in one basket, for example. #Contentdevelopment #contentcreation

Whenever there's anything new in the way of tools and tech to bring to a client, it's easy to say, "Check this out! So cool, right?" Well...for Sales, that gets tricky. It's not a handoff and wishing them good luck. And it's not even teaching them how to fish with a new tool. That can just be adding more stuff to their already full plates. Check out this idea for onboarding new tools and tech to make Sales' life easier and let me know how you're integrating any new stuff with what people already find comfortable. Maybe it's not them who has to personally learn it and use it at all in order to still get all the benefits? Would us taking the lead be such a bad thing?

We were having a blast today recording the first episode for a podcast we're putting together with a fellow Fractional CMO (stay tuned) and came to kind of an epiphany: We don't have to be the Jimmy Kimmel, the Jimmy Fallon, the Stephen Colbert hosting the show all the time. We can be just as happy being the wingman, sidekick, Robin to their Batman. It may be imperative to be that if you're thinking you want to do this with another person for quite a while. Why? One of the hardest things about doing any kind of podcast is having the stamina to do it for a long time, be fresh and most importantly - have FUN doing it. If it's no fun, it royally sucks. You can't make it fun at that point. We did one with a group for a year. It was fun until it wasn't. And then we had to get out because we were torturing ourselves. So we're going to be more than happy to let our soon-to-be partner in podcasting lead the way because she's damn good at it. But also because we want to be excited to do this and not burned out anytime soon. How about you? If you've been doing any kind of podcast either by yourself or with a partner - or for that matter, a series of videos - how are you keeping it interesting? Do you do seasons, trade off hosting responsibilities, let it rip live, have guests, etc.? Curious minds would love to know. #podcasts
