I've just returned from an exhilarating week of conferences that offered deep insights into the future of technology, data, AI and leadership. Here's what resonated with me across these incredible events: 1. Big Data & Analytics Canada's Data Analytics & AI for Financial Services Summit ???? The first panel on the first day emphasized that data strategy IS business strategy. What stood out was the practical approach to AI implementation—starting with proof of concepts that validate value before scaling. Several speakers highlighted that we should view ROI not just as a financial metric but consider the cost of inaction when NOT exploring AI solutions. 2. Vector Institute's Remarkable 2025 ???? The discussions here transcended technical applications to focus on responsible AI adoption. A compelling framework emerged—what is called the ABC of AI Adoption: A = All teams involved and Always learning ?? B = Bold goals anchored on value creation ?? C = Culture and change with embedded roles ?? The intersection of research and practical application was particularly inspiring, showing how Canada is positioning itself in the global AI landscape. 3. DMZ's Women Innovation Summit ????? At this empowering event, we celebrated women driving innovation across industries. The "Leading with Purpose" panel featuring remarkable leaders like Mona Minhas and Michele Okere reinforced the importance of championing women around us. What I'm taking away is that successful innovation isn't just about technology—it's about people, purpose, and persistence.
