The day was filled with engaging conversations and tours that highlighted the roles manufacturers play within Calhoun County. This year, the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center's YLCC class took on a new challenge designed to increase awareness of industrial careers—a crucial initiative to help students discover opportunities in local industries they may not have previously considered. We would like to extend a big thank you to Aerospace Coatings International, Inc., Bridgewater Interiors, and Doncasters Group who opened their doors for an inside look at their operations! These partnerships strengthen our community and lay the foundation for a thriving future workforce. Thank you to the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center for the opportunity to share a day in economic development with these bright students! This morning, we had the Alabama Department of Commerce and the Alabama Department of Revenue at the Manufacturer’s Roundtable, where they shared invaluable insights on incentives with our local industries at the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center. It was an exciting opportunity for companies to gain the tools to use as they fuel company growth and innovation. Empowering the next generation of innovators! In partnership with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Tyler Union, M&H Valve Company and McWane, Inc., celebrated the ribbon cutting of Calhoun County’s newest STEM Center at Golden Springs Elementary School. We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in opening six #STEM Centers to provide fun, hands-on learning activities to students at Golden Springs Elementary School, Randolph Park Elementary, Saks Elementary School and Wellborn Elementary School, as well as youth at the YMCA of Calhoun County and the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama!

Your support has made a significant impact on those employees, especially during the unexpected transition. ??Lee Brass Job Fair??August 20th | 9-12?? **This special Job Fair is for former employees of Lee Brass and other job seekers.** It will provide workers with the chance to connect with a variety of employers who are seeking to fill positions that align with specific skills and expertise. A Rapid Response team will also provide information sessions in an adjacent room throughout the event. The EDC, East AlabamaWorks, and the Anniston Career Center want to ensure that people of the community have access to opportunities that will support the transition into new roles.
