Yesterday, Calhoun Liberty Credit Union had the privilege of delivering 500 backpacks filled with easy-to-make meals and snacks to Wewa Elementary, Wewa High School, Port St. Joe Elementary, and Port St. Joe High School. These backpacks were made possible through our partnership with Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative, and we were thrilled to have Kristin Douglas, their VP of Marketing, join us in delivering them to the schools. This collaboration is a great example of how we can work together to support students in need. Last week, we had the opportunity to deliver backpacks full of meals and snacks to Altha School. Ms. Megan Henson’s class assisted with unloading so that the backpacks could be distributed to all Calhoun County Schools for students. This program, operated by the school district, allows access to food outside of regular school hours. Giving back to our community and supporting local families is a core part of our mission at Calhoun Liberty Credit Union, and we’re proud to contribute to this meaningful initiative. #CommunitySupport #PeopleHelpingPeople #CLCUCares

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, when essential services were disrupted, we were honored to assist our sister credit union, Georgia Power Valdosta Federal Credit Union, by deploying our solar-powered ATM trailer. This allowed their community to access much-needed financial services during a time of crisis. This initiative stems from lessons we learned after Hurricane Michael devastated our own community in 2018. In response, we designed this self-sufficient, solar-powered ATM to be deployed in times of crisis, ensuring that no one is left without access to banking services.
