Looking back at a project we were incredibly proud of—the North Routt Community Charter School. This LEED Platinum Certified building combined innovation and sustainability, featuring photovoltaics, sunlight-harvesting technologies, and unique touches like beetle-kill cabinets, a biomass boiler, and beetle-kill wood trim. Spanning 12,656 SF, this eco-friendly facility became a valuable community resource and a step forward in sustainable design. We were proud to have contributed to this incredible project! Huge congratulations to the team behind our 5505 Central Ave. project for winning the Ace Award Bronze for Best Building Project (General Contractor $10M - $40M) at the AGC Ace Awards last Saturday! Located in Boulder, CO, 5505 Central Ave. is an 84,353 SF ground up research-focused biomedical build. The project features two levels of open shell space and one level of covered parking. Calcon completed this project seamlessly with the collaboration of BioMed Realty, OZ Architecture, and many trade partners. 5505 Central Ave. includes sophisticated clean lines, mirrored panel windows, functional eco-friendly features, thoughtful landscaping, and breathtaking views of the Flatirons. 5505 Central Ave. has recently earned LEED Gold status, exceeding the initial project goal of LEED Certified, thanks to Calcon's unwavering commitment to sustainable building practices. Congratulations to our Residence on Acoma project team for having completed the main concrete structure last Friday! Calcon celebrated this milestone with a BBQ to recognize the team’s hard work. In 2023, Metro West Housing Solutions (MWHS) began a major renovation of Belmar Groves, one of our 18 communities. The project focuses on upgrading the building’s exterior, interior units, and shared spaces to ensure that Belmar Groves continues to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents. A key focus of the renovation is improving accessibility features, reinforcing our commitment to providing inclusive, fair, and equitable housing for all. As of August 2024, 32 of the 118 units have been fully renovated, and exterior improvements on three buildings are now complete. This transformative work has been made possible thanks to vital support from grants provided by the EPA, the Colorado Division of Housing, and Jefferson County along with Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) allocated by CHFA. MWHS anticipates the full renovation will be completed by early 2025, marking a major milestone in our ongoing mission to create and sustain affordable housing opportunities for the community.
