Congrats to CSUF Student Managed Investment Fund students Hieu Pham Eddie Bruegger and Clinton Cox for winning 1st place in the Titan Capital Management Student Investment Conference Stock Pitch Competition on Dollar General. This is the second year in a row this team has won the pitch competition! Also congrats to the team from Cal Poly Pomona College of Business Administration for winning 2nd Place and to all the teams that participated which also included another CSUF team, and students from Cypress College, Orange Coast College.

Meet Kenneth Sherb, our recent Titan Capital Management grad who led his fellow investment students to victory at the CFA Institute L.A. competition for the fifth consecutive time this Februrary. “The most significant lesson I gained is that even as students, we can create work product that rivals or surpasses industry analysts if we put in the effort," says Sherb. "The experience boosted our confidence and analytic skills. Managing the team was challenging, akin to a group project on steroids. The new Titan Capital Management (TCM) Investment Research Center officially opened on April 26! This new space will give TCM students a new physical space to help them make data-driven investments with the latest technology, such as using the 8 Bloomberg terminals and multiple databases for research and reporting. In addition to the grand opening of the new TCM facility, the TCM program was honored by the CFA Society Los Angeles with Steven Wang, CFA presenting 2023-2024 IRC team captain, Kenneth Sherb, with framed pictures to celebrate the past 5 championship teams. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, TCM alums, board members, and students gathered for presentations and panels which feature current TCM students and alums, Steven Wang, from CFALA, former Managing Director, Marcia Lucas, CFA, TCM board members Dominic Nolan, CFA, and Sally Stalcup. Thank you to all the individuals, including TCM board members, TCM alums, and College of Business and Economics faculty who attended the grand opening of the new office space! A huge congratulations to Trevor Laudate and Blake Rushman for winning 1st place at the San Diego Angel Conference and collecting a $300,000 investment in their company, Ecodrive!! Over 100 firms competed and yet again, our TCM alum’s showed they can win as well. Trevor and Blake also presented at the TCM Investment Research Grand Opening. Running a start-up company is not easy but these two have the grit factor which is at least half of the battle. Congrats guys and keep it going!! #ThrowbackThursday to the 6th Annual Titan Capital Management Student Investment Conference on November 3rd, 2023, at the CSUF College of Business and Economics. ?? Conference Highlights: Attendance: Over 100 student attendees from local OC colleges, including CSUF, Irvine Valley College, CSULB, and Orange Coast College! This conference is FREE for all college students to attend.? Speakers and Workshops: With a total of twelve workshops and panels open to the students to attend, speakers from companies from First American Financial, Goldman Sachs,? Aristotle Pacific Capital, Canterbury Consulting, Apriem Advisors, and CSUF faculty spoke and discussed topics, such as credit research, wealth management, and investment consulting. Career Insights: The panels and workshops offered students a backstage pass to the exciting realms of wealth management and investment consulting. This year's conference included a workshop on introducing the TCM program to prospective students to provide insights about the program and ask the TCM faculty and alumni questions. Student Competitions: More than 60 students showcased their talents in the 2 competitions, 4-7 Things and Investment Game. There were 3 winning teams in each competition. The winning teams will receive an award- 1st place $250, 2nd place $150, and 3rd place $100. Congratulations to all of the student competitors for all your hard work!? ?? In the 2022-2023 California State University, Fullerton annual report, Titan Capital Management Capital Management's achievements were spotlighted, including a feature of TCM 2023 class alum Jacquelyn George, now an investment analyst at Canterbury Consulting. The Titan Capital Management 2023 class achievements included:? ??2023 CFA Institute Research Challenge Americas Champions & placing in the top 6 teams out of 1,000 teams globally? ??CSUF Student Managed Investment Fund placed 2nd in the CFA Orange County RFP Competition hosted by PIMCO in Newport Beach in November 2022. ??2 TCM students earned recognition on the Dean's Honor List every semester at CSUF (minimum GPA 3.5) ??1 student received recognition from the CREW commercial real estate women network both locally and at the national level with total scholarships of $10,000 ??5 students received scholarships for the CFA Level 1 exam. CSUF Titan Capital Management and CSUF Student Managed Investment Fund students visited ClariVest Asset Management LLC. Special thanks to Todd Wolter, CFA Ed Wagner, CFA and Amanda Freeman, CFA for hosting and sharing insights about their business, strategies and process as well as thoughts on careers, technology and stocks.

The CSUF Student Managed Investment Fund won first place earlier this month at the annual CFA Society of Orange County Request for Proposal Competition. The investment fund manages a real-world portfolio to fund student scholarships and is the first experience many finance-focused students have in managing real $$$. Cal State Fullerton has been participating in this competition since 2018, in which the top three universities are awarded assets for management over the next year. Students must present strategies on how they will manage the assets. Though Business Titans have placed second in the past three years, this is the first time in five years that CSUF has come in first! Congrats to the presenting team: Eric Ramos, Dominick Spano, Will Hollon, Jeffrey Salas, Jacob P., Thomas Chiaromonte, Kyrstin Huxtable, John Kennedy, Luke Knudson and Kishan Patel.
