Honoring American Military Aviation through Flight, Exhibition, and Remembrance
关于我们
The Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force A military aviation war museum located at the Camarillo airport. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization, with members from all walks of life, dedicated to preserving the history of WWII aircraft for generations to come. The CAF is a non-profit 501(c)3, privately funded and totally self-supporting organization. Our Mission: TO HONOR AMERICAN MILITARY AVIATION THROUGH FLIGHT, EXHIBITION, AND REMEMBRANCE “A generation which ignores history has no past, and no future” – Robert Heinlein. The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans. More than just a collection of airworthy warplanes from the past, the CAF’s fleet of historic aircraft, known as the CAF Ghost Squadron, recreate, remind and reinforce the lessons learned from the defining moments in American military aviation history. Would you like to be a part of this great mission? Join the CAF with an honorary rank of colonel and help keep these magnificent aircraft flying. This is our creed and more. It’s who we are, what we do and why we do it. Help history soar!

Did you know that this upcoming June 6th marks the 80th anniversary of one of the most pivotal events in military history? D-Day, the amphibious invasion of German-occupied Northwest France in June 1944.?On Saturday, June 8th, the Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing at the Camarillo Airport will host an event commemorating this historical event and the Marine Corps PBJ Mitchell, North American’s workhorse twin-engine medium bomber.?They will have an exciting presentation for you and will have on display a diverse array of D-Day relevant aircraft, vehicles, and reenactors, including the Spitfire, P-51 Mustang, C-47 Skytrain, Dodge Power Wagon, M-113 APC, a WWII Jeep, and paratroopers. Weather, operations, and maintenance permitting, the event will conclude with a flight of the PBJ bomber.?Come to hear about the assault that pierced Hitler’s Fortress Europe and see a few examples of the men and machines that made it happen.
