Sonny Wimberly deployed to Vietnam shortly after entering the Army in 1968. He served for 22 years, earning two Purple Hearts for wounds sustained in combat and a Bronze Star for valor. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006, CAF Operation Rebound helped him remain active with wheelchair sports - including playing with fellow veterans at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games! This National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we’d like to honor all of our Vietnam War veterans. CAF thanks you for your service.

ROTH Conference attendees recently participated in a day of sport supporting CAF’s mission, and Steve Serio + Derek Loccident shared with participants just how life-changing CAF programs can be for individuals with physical disabilities! Over $2,000,000 total has been raised for CAF through this conference and the support of ROTH Capital Partners family & friends - over $50,000 from this year's event alone. CAF is grateful for this 13 year tradition that continues to build awareness and raise funds to fulfill CAF's mission, empowering lives through sport.

Check out these epic memories that Alana Nichols is making at Yosemite, with some help from her electric bike with assistive technology! A CAF Grant funded by Toyota North America helped her get up-close-and-personal with those El Capitan views.

A group of CAF athletes from US Paralympic Cycling and US Paralympic Track & Field attended a weekend camp at Lakeshore Foundation's Sports Science and Performance Center, where they were assessed and received nutritional, mental, and performance resources that they can apply in their training - including 3 months of additional virtual, personalized support from a team of sport science professionals. We're thrilled to see these athletes take the insights and data they've learned and apply them to their training, helping them reach their goals and unlock new levels of performance!

Kristine Entwistle joined CAF in 2006 to help envision and launch the very first Million Dollar Challenge and develop CAF’s cycling program. She went on to oversee the organization’s special events and eventually took on the role as Associate Executive Director in 2017 before becoming CAF's CEO in 2022. She’s spent years working in events, hospitality, and non-profit and is driven by making a positive impact on the lives of our supporters and athletes with permanent physical disabilities. Kristine loves cycling, rowing and yoga as well as spending time with her husband and son, who have both volunteered for CAF making it a full family endeavor.
