“We want to hand deliver a high-quality handcrafted beverage to our cafe customers in four minutes or less.” This is what Brian Nicol, Starbucks’s new CEO declared in December 2024. At Café Joyeux, we thrive on challenges—so when Brian set the magic number, we made it our mission to hit it. Now, guests at our NYC café in Midtown Manhattan receive their coffee-based drinks—latte, espresso, cappuccino, macchiato—in under four minutes. And the best part? These beverages are crafted and served by individuals with special needs, many of whom had never held a job just months ago. Bringing people with disabilities into the workforce and meeting industry standards—on their own terms—is our mission. Here’s what it takes: ? Technical Skills – Comprehensive, adaptive barista training tailored to their needs ? Empowering Management – Building confidence and belief in their abilities ? Can-Do Mindset – Overcoming cognitive challenges with determination ? Positive Environment – A joyful, inclusive workspace where differences are celebrated Hats off to our incredible team of employees with special needs and their neurotypical supervisors—together, they’re proving that inclusion is not just possible but powerful! Come experience it firsthand - visit our cafe at 52nd and Lex or bring Café Joyeux to your office for a unique and meaningful experience for your employees. #GivingTuesday is a unique opportunity to support Café Joyeux US and foster social impact. Our NYC café, the first one in the US, is an inclusive workplace where our employees with special needs receive vocational training to develop a career in hospitality. Created in 2017 in France, Café Joyeux operates 26 cafés and employs about 200 individuals with special needs in the world to date. Our impact goes far beyond giving them a job: we give them dignity, we give them and their families hope, and we change the perception of disability by our society. If you believe that everyone deserves a chance, join our adventure and donate to become an Ambassador of inclusion ?? https://lnkd.in/ea4mbu5t #disabilities #impact #nonprofit #hospitality #smallbusiness Mathieu Chabran Celia Ravix Kevin Michel Yann Bucaille-Lanrezac Benjamin Birnbaum Marco Damiani Chris Cozzone Lorraine Chastenet Sylvie Giret Jason Washington

[#DIVERSITYMONTH] Discussing workplace inclusion with Café Joyeux US, an organisation dedicated to providing meaningful employment to individuals who face challenges in accessing job opportunities due to disabilities. Since October 1st, we are actively supporting the recent installation of Café Joyeux in New York by sourcing our coffee directly from them. As part of our initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion, we had the privilege to receive Sylvie Giret, CEO of Café Joyeux US, a few days ago in our New York Office. She shared with us inspiring insights into Café Joyeux’s mission to create inclusive workplaces and their dedication to supporting individuals with #disabilities. We also had the chance to listen to the personal story of Diana, a member of the Café Joyeux’s team, providing a unique perspective on the impact of #inclusion within their organisation. These meaningful discussions reinforce our conviction that fostering an inclusive environment for all is essential to promote equal opportunities and #diversity. This event comes in addition to the initiatives ran as part of our “Allyship to Inspire Inclusion” which provide staff with greater knowledge of diversity as a whole, best practices for allyship, and actionable ways to contribute to creating a more inclusive workplace. A warm thank you to everyone who joined us for our Diversity Month event, highlighting our collaboration with Café Joyeux, we look forward to continuing this journey!

Another major win for film 47, that so subtly tells the true story of a boy born with Down Syndrome who found his first job at Café Joyeux at 47 years old. Across its 26 cafés around the world, Café Joyeux trains and employs almost 200 #neurodivergent individuals, including 18 in NYC. Café Joyeux gives them meaningful employment, Klick gives them a voice. Together, let's change the perception of #disabilities in our society, one cup at a time. A personal message from our founder and Chief Inspiration Officer Yann Bucaille-Lanrezac. In 2017, Yann and his wife Lydwine created a vision for a better world, where neurodiverse individuals thrive under ordinary conditions. Through our 24 cafes in France, Portugal, Belgium and the United States, we demonstrate that an inclusive model is not only possible but beneficial to all. Our mission is bigger than our cafes: through our cafes, our line of specialty coffee, our services to corporates, we want to inspire everyone to take the baton and act. Leading organizations like Klick Boston Properties (BXP) JCDecaux Crédit Agricole CIB Mo?t Hennessy National Football League (NFL) Restaurant Associates Blackstone Newmark Tikehau Capital Astorg CIFC Asset Management and more have seized the opportunity to act for a better world by using Café Joyeux innovative model to leverage their DEI efforts and further promote inclusion in the workplace. During the paralympics in Paris People with disabilities showed that they have an essential role to play in our world as excellent sportsmen… Guess what ? They have a role to play in our world in general. And in the economy in particular ! Watch this great film ?? which illustrates that. https://lnkd.in/eiRWuKfe https://lnkd.in/eD2N8jfH Ce film primé à Cannes est inspiré d’un équipier de café joyeux , et montre le combat de toute une communauté de personnes différentes pour être admises dans la société, dans la vie ordinaire comme en entreprise. ??47?? is a 7 minutes stop-motion film ?? that has required hours of hand made art crafting work, with and by people with Down Syndrome. It is inspired by the story of one of our crew members at Café Joyeux 47 years who has never been accepted because of his ‘disability’. Isn’t the world disabled ?
