    Most companies struggle with CRM — not because the tool is bad, but because the implementation is flawed. → Sales teams don’t update records. → Data is scattered and inconsistent. → Reports are useless because they’re built on bad data. Sound familiar? ?? The good news: these are fixable problems. Here’s a step-by-step solution to the most common CRM challenges: Step 1: Start with a Clear Goal → What’s the purpose of your CRM? (Sales tracking? Customer service? Marketing automation?) → Define one core outcome you want to achieve — then build around it. Step 2: Clean Up Your Data → Bad data = bad decisions. → Remove duplicates, fix formatting issues, and create standard naming conventions. Step 3: Automate the Boring Stuff → Create workflows for follow-ups, lead assignments, and task reminders. → If it’s repetitive, automate it. Step 4: Make It Easy to Update → Sales teams won’t use the CRM if it’s painful. → Remove unnecessary fields and keep the interface clean. Step 5: Set Up Real-Time Dashboards → Static reports = outdated insights. → Create dynamic dashboards that update automatically. Step 6: Train Your Team (And Keep Training) → A one-time training session won’t cut it. → Provide ongoing training and make sure new hires are onboarded correctly.     Why do some companies have flawless GP to BC migrations while others struggle? Preparation. It’s not the migration tool. It’s not the version of GP. It’s not even the data volume. It’s how they prepare before the migration. Here’s how successful migrations happen (and where most companies go wrong): 1. They Clean Up Data Before the Migration - Average companies: “We’ll clean it up after the migration.” ? Successful companies: Ruthlessly clean up customers, vendors, and transactions before migrating — duplicates, outdated records, and unnecessary data all get removed. 2. They Only Migrate What Matters ?? Average companies: “Just move everything over.” ? Successful companies: Strategically decide which historical data is actually valuable — and leave the rest behind. 3. They Map GP Segments to BC Dimensions ?? Average companies: “It’ll work itself out.” ? Successful companies: Carefully map GP’s segments to Business Central’s dimensions to avoid post-go-live chaos. 4. They Confirm SQL Compatibility First ?? Average companies: “We’ll figure it out later.” ? Successful companies: Confirm their SQL Server version meets Microsoft’s requirements before starting the migration. 5. They Build a Plan for Custom Workflows ??
