Our Engineering team met with Doug Espinoza - MBA and Richard Burfield from RJG, Inc. for yet another training session ???? We began with an overview discussion of Traditional Molding vs. Decoupled Molding. Then, we gathered around the press to conduct a series of studies, including check ring inspection, load capacity, speed linearity, gate seal, pressure loss, and melt temperature probing. This was all very informative and helpful for the team to gain the perspective of Processors, focusing on the following: ?? Machine Capability & Response Testing – Understanding how to evaluate an injection molding machine’s capabilities and response to different parameters. ?? Troubleshooting Techniques – Learning expert tips and tricks to diagnose and resolve machine issues effectively. ?? Material Lot Variation Management – Strategies to handle inconsistencies in material properties and ensure process stability. ?? Process Development from Scratch – Understanding how molders build processes in order to better utilize for process development in Moldflow. ?? Part Quality & Dimensional Control – Identifying the root causes of defects and implementing corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards. This training has equipped us with the knowledge and tools to enhance our Moldflow processes and tackle challenges head-on. We look forward to applying these skills in our daily operations! #InjectionMolding #Moldflow #Simulation #TraditionalMolding #DecoupledMolding #ScientificMolding #RJG #Plastics #Manufacturing #Processing #AbsoluteHaitain

Common Defect in Plastic Part Design: Weld Lines ?? This is one of the most frequent issues our clients encounter. But how do they occur? ?? Weld lines form when two or more flow fronts come together and form a visual defect as well as a potential area of structural weakness. When addressing weld lines, here are a few key points to keep in mind: 1?? Every opening in the part design during injection will form a weld line. It is important to consider strength and appearance requirements when designing a part and evaluating gating options. 2?? If necessary, wall thickness can be altered to reposition a weld line into a more desirable area. 3?? The temperature of the flow fronts as they meet is the main factor in determining the strength of a weld line. A strong weld line is created when the flow fronts meet near the melt temperature. ?? Be proactive, design & plan so your parts meet both form and function requirements! Shoot us an e-mail at [email protected] ??
