The Education Administrator 1 will Under direction of the Director and the Associate Director of the Special Education Division, the Education Administrator I (EAI) manages the Complaint Investigation Unit III(CIU). Responsibilities include providing administrative and programmatic leadership; managerial direction; and supervision of education program consultants, analysts, and support staff for the educational program responsibilities assigned to the unit. Specifically, EAI must ensure there is logical decision making regarding alleged violation and compliance determination, as well as consistency among complaint reports that are thorough and comprehensive. The Unit responsibilities include analyzing allegations and determining compliance; investigating non-compliance; designing and facilitating student outcome systems; and providing technical assistance to staff, and/or local educational agencies. This is accomplished through the statewide implementation, enforcement, and monitoring of local educational agencies' (LEAs) civil rights policies, practices, and procedures. Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst perform complex and technical duties, including: ? Conducting civil rights compliance reviews of LEAs, which includes LEA staff interviews, reviewing evidence of compliance, and analyzing appropriate legal requirements.? ? Preparing thorough written findings and identifying compliance violations and corrective actions.? ? Facilitating and monitoring the timely resolution of compliance violations.? ? Providing ongoing guidance and technical assistance to LEAs on civil rights and equity policies, practices, and procedures.? ? Providing in-depth compliance training to LEA staff. NOW HIRING! The California Department of Education is hiring a Nutrition Education Consultant in the Nutrition Services Division, ENPU/School Nutrition Programs Unit. The Nutrition Education Consultant supports the establishment of nutrition and food service education as an integrated component of a comprehensive school system. This position serves as the subject matter expert for competitive foods, professional standards, and the local school wellness policy. This position also provides leadership for communication of state and federal policy in these areas via trainings, resources, web content, and management bulletins and coordinates the development and delivery of the Introduction to School Nutrition Program training program. The position leads cross-division projects resulting from newly instituted legislation, develops and conducts statewide trainings on K-12 nutrition standards, and oversees funding opportunities including apportionments and local assistance grants and contracts. This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in the Sacramento area. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office a minimum of two days per week and more as determined by business needs.
