Over the past two weeks, C.A.C. employees have generously donated time, money, and materials for donation to areas in North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene. The collected items are being sent to Asheville and the surrounding areas by the New Milford, CT food pantry, which has organized the transportation of the goods. We send our best wishes to those recovering from the disaster and hope our donations can make even a small positive difference to the area’s residents. Huge shout out to our employees for living FUNDAMENTAL #27 - MAKE A DIFFERENCE. #nycconstruction #nycpaving #construction #paving #roadwork #construction #contractor #constructionlife #building #civilengineering #builder #constructionsite #civilengineer #renovation #constructionworker #concrete #hurricanerecovery #caccares #hurricanerelief #hurricanehelene #donations

We celebrated yet another milestone on the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project this past weekend — the successful overnight installation of the Corlears Hook Bridge. Manufactured in Italy, the bridge was disassembled and shipped to the U.S., where it was then delivered on site mainly via barge. It was then assembled in the passive lawn area. On installation night, the 120-ton, 157'8" bridge was rolled along the FDR Drive using self-propelled modular transporters. The ADA-accessible bridge will provide direct access to the Corlears Hook Ferry Terminal, the Amphitheater, Ballfields 1 & 2, and the future compost facility. Thanks to the work of IPC Resiliency Partners, HNTB, The LiRo Group, American Structural Works, Cimolai Group,?the DDC team, and more on this achievement.?

The East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project enhances connections between local communities and East River Park through improvements to four key access points across the FDR with improved ADA accessibility, including three pedestrian bridges: Corlears Hook Bridge, Delancey Street Bridge, and the East 10th Street Bridge – as well as the Houston Street entry. Work is underway to assemble the Corlears Hook Bridge. The new bridge will connect to Corlears Hook Park and provide safe access to East River Park.
