This mission takes root in three key components, through which CAALE 1) funds merit-based college scholarships 2) administers a leadership development program and 3) facilitates cultural education. Through the implementation of this three-tiered mission, CAALE aims to create a platform that produces a legacy of educating students, guiding them into successful professions, and enabling them to become valuable leaders in our community, while cultivating strong cultural identities.

Wrapping up Day 2 of our Impact Trip on a high note! CAALE students had the powerful opportunity to meet with El Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, co-founder of El Directorio Democrático Cubano. In an intimate and impactful conversation, Dr. Gutiérrez-Boronat shared his journey as a Cuban exile, activist, and leader in the fight for human rights and democracy in Cuba. His words challenged our students to think critically about freedom, advocacy, and the responsibility we carry as the next generation of leaders. We are incredibly grateful for the time, wisdom, and encouragement he shared with us. Stop 2 on Day 2… CAALE visits The Cuban! As part of our Miami Impact Trip, students had the incredible opportunity to explore the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora a space dedicated to preserving and sharing the powerful stories of Cuban exiles and their enduring legacy. Students were exposed to deeply moving exhibits and personal narratives that shed light on the realities of displacement, cultural resilience, and the fight to keep identity alive. They learned about the emotional impact of exile, the strength of Cuban families, and the role of memory and history in shaping the present and future. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff and to Marcell Felipe, Chair of the Museum’s Board, for the warm welcome and personal tour. Your insight and storytelling made this experience truly unforgettable. We encourage everyone especially our youth to visit the Cuban and connect with the rich history that continues to shape our community.
