As natural disasters become more frequent and severe, resilience has become a key focus for communities and the Department of Defense. But what does resilience mean in practice? At a recent SAME OKC Post luncheon, Guernsey explored the critical role of energy resilience in adapting to these challenges through our own client case studies. From strategies to recapitalize existing systems to designing new infrastructure that can withstand future impacts, energy systems are at the core of a resilient future. Welcome Bao Le to the Guernsey team! 🎉 With a solid foundation in civil engineering and specialized expertise in water and wastewater management. He’s tackled everything from roadway drainage, bridge hydraulics, pipelines to pump stations, storage tanks and even lagoon and pond projects. In addition, he has plenty of knowledge to do site/civil projects, including grading modeling, utilities and permitting process. Bao has already passed his PE exam and will be licensed engineer soon. Fun fact: Bao’s a DIY wizard with six years of hands-on home remodeling – he can do it all, from plumbing and electrical work to building furniture, cabinetry, and carpentry. Guernsey’s Laura Fawcett proudly shared the stage with the OU, OSU, and Tinker Air Force Base at the Oklahoma Aerospace Forum, discussing how new cyber requirements are impacting all DoD partners, including our Oklahoma academic institutions. It was a powerful chance to explore research, collaborate, and advance aerospace initiatives in our state. As Oklahoma companies deliver to the DoD, meeting Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards will be essential. While challenging, 80% of these requirements are rooted in good cyber hygiene and solid business practices. Guernsey is here to help businesses navigate these standards, building stronger partnerships in defense and a stronger Oklahoma.

What do you know about Net-Zero Energy (NZE) projects? It would have been great for you to attend this year's AEEOK/OREC Roger Farrer "EnVision the Future" Energy Conference. Guernsey's Dr. Kumar Mayank, PhD CEM presented a session showcasing Guernsey's net-zero energy housing for the DoD. For this project we provided our client with multiple options for single-family housing units that have a net-zero energy consumption, which they will build and test over the span of a year to determine the most favorable option.
