This morning, C-TRAN staff stopped by the National Federation of the Blind of Washington’s annual convention to share some exciting news: Starting today, we are offering free visual interpretation service for blind and low-vision passengers through Aira! This service provides on-demand, remote visual interpreting, and can be used for free by passengers calling for navigation on any C-TRAN routes or services. We are proud to offer this resource and look forward to its impact on helping blind and low-vision community members access public transit in Clark County. On Friday, January 10, a handful of C-TRAN employees traveled with a bus to Seattle to join the memorial procession for fallen King County Metro Transit bus operator Shawn Yim. Seeing so many transit agencies from all over the northwest band together to pay their respects and show their support was truly moving. Our thoughts are with King County Metro and everyone who knew and loved Shawn Yim. ??
