It’s the end of an era at C-TRAN: The last Gillig Phantom buses to be used in regular service have officially been retired from the fleet. We’re sad to see them go, but they have served us well since arriving in 2003. 21 years of service is well beyond the norm for a transit vehicle. C-TRAN’s Chief Maintenance Officer Tim Shellenberger and Manager of Fleet Maintenance John Orsetti recently chatted with us about how their outstanding team kept these buses on the road for over two decades. Congratulations are in order to C-TRAN Field Operations and Planning Analyst Mercedes Grams for receiving an American Public Transportation Foundation (APTF) scholarship! The APTF program provides scholarships to college students or transit professionals pursuing advanced degrees in order to grow their careers.
