President Trump issued an executive order yesterday outlining key measures to strengthen U.S. leadership in digital assets and financial technology. Key Highlights: 1?? The U.S. is committed to leading innovation in digital assets and financial technology, promoting economic liberty and fostering innovation. 2?? Citizens’ rights are protected to access open blockchain networks, develop software, engage in #mining, and self-custody digital assets without censorship. 3?? Sovereignty of the U.S. dollar is reinforced through the development of lawful, dollar-backed #stablecoins. 4?? Fair and open access to banking services for law-abiding individuals and entities is prioritized. 5?? Technology-neutral regulations and transparent frameworks will drive a thriving digital economy and #blockchain innovation. 6?? Central Bank Digital Currencies (#CBDCs) are prohibited to safeguard financial stability, privacy, and national sovereignty. 7?? A Presidential Working Group on Digital Asset Markets is established to review #regulations, guide policy, and propose frameworks. 8?? Federal agencies are tasked with evaluating and updating regulations affecting digital assets within specified timelines. 9?? A comprehensive regulatory framework will focus on market oversight, consumer protection, and risk management. ?? Plans for CBDCs are terminated, with public hearings ensuring expert input on digital asset policies. The Republic of Cyprus is on the verge of joining the Schengen Zone. President Nikos Christodoulides announced that Cyprus is in the “final stage” of preparations, with plans to meet all technical requirements by 2025. Schengen Zone membership allows for simplified travel, stronger EU integration, and new opportunities for businesses and individuals.
