We recently submitted a bid for our first project opportunity with a large healthcare facility. Cesar was assigned to be the Estimator on the project. Being a healthcare project, there were a lot of strict requirements that needed to be followed. As Cesar dug into the project, he discovered several ambiguities, errors, and open-ended items in the drawings and specifications. Cesar diligently noted these all and sent multiple rounds of RFIs to the client. During the scope review, the client expressed how impressed he was with the number and accuracy of the RFIs Cesar asked, noting that no other bidding GCs were nearly as thorough. As a result, he said he would like to work with us on several upcoming projects that require Preconstruction services, because it’s clear we dig into the details and ask the right questions to ensure the budget is accurate. Even though we didn't win the project, Cesar showed the importance of both providing excellent service to the client and preparing for the future success of the project.
关于我们
At C.E. Floyd we make every number count. We care about the numbers. And not necessarily the ones you expect us to. Sure, we care about the budget and the dates in the timeline. Who doesn’t? But the numbers that really get us excited are the ones that engineer the most value, help protect the planet and help us earn the complete confidence and trust of our clients, the people we work with and the communities that depend on the buildings we construct. We care about the number of women who work at our business (24%). We care that our client satisfaction rate is 9.1/10 and our repeat and referral rate is 93%. We care about every dollar and pro-bono hour we donate to local charitable organizations, as well as the 400 hours of volunteer time off our employees used this year alone. We care that 60% of our clients are non-profits. And that we have a 74% construction waste recycling rate across our projects. These all ladder up to our favorite number —100.4! That is our B-Corp Brand Impact Score, which shows just how much we’re committed to upholding the very highest standards in environmental and social governance. And, by being a B-Corp, we care about continually improving that score by staying totally transparent and accountable every step of the way. We care about every one of our impact metrics and project performance targets. Because when we care about the numbers, we can help build a better future we can all count on.

We’ve started installing steel for the new Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell! This is always an exciting milestone, because you can really start to see the building take shape. The current Teen Center can serve 100 teens per day, while the new one will have space to accommodate 250 teens. We’ve also turned over the new kitchen to the Club, which will enable them to feed 450 people per meal. The former kitchen could serve only half that number. We’re so grateful to be involved in this project knowing the positive impact it will have for the children of Lowell and the community in general. We make every number count. Because when we care about the numbers, we can help build a better future we can all count on. #MakeEveryNumberCount

Congratulations to Senior Project Superintendent Carlos Melendez on becoming a Certified Passive House Tradesperson! This certification will help Carlos better serve our clients to realize their sustainability goals and meet or exceed Massachusetts’s new more stringent energy codes. Passive House focuses on greatly reducing the energy needed to heat and cool a space with an emphasis on the building envelope and mechanical systems. Through Passive House, we can deliver a high level of energy savings and carbon reduction for all building types while providing a healthier and more comfortable space to live and work. C.E. Floyd Company’s investment in Passive House Training will help us make a positive impact on our communities by delivering more sustainable buildings.

We’re doing several projects for a repeat commercial client that have us spread out all over their occupied campus. These include upgrading the electrical service to the campus, which consists of installing new conduits, transformers, and switchgear. We’re also replacing boilers in two buildings while keeping the buildings fully serviced. Finally, we’re renovating and adding onto a lab space, which requires taking an electrical room out of service and relocating the electrical panels to other areas in the building. Maintaining an open flow of communication with the client has been very important to getting this work done.

Totally unexpected but very much appreciated! We were honored with the MARC Community Partner Award at their Annual Meeting earlier this month. We have helped MARC with budgeting of future work, grant sourcing, and analysis and pricing of repairs to their existing facility. MARC President and CEO Melissa Davison-Wood shared, “Over the past several years C.E. Floyd has gone out of their way to support us in the various projects we have had, many times with very short notice. In addition, the work they completed was often without charge. We are so grateful for your partnership.” MARC Community Resources, LTD. is a not-for-profit in Middletown, CT that empowers people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to make their own life choices and aid in the fulfillment of their dreams through employment, housing, social, and community involvement and advocacy. Thank you for recognizing us as a Community Partner!

The Residence at Bedford, which opened this summer, gives local seniors a much-needed housing option so they can stay in the community. It offers 66 assisted living and 26 memory care apartments. Amenities include a dining room, bistro, game room, library, media room, beauty salon, activities room, physical therapy and fitness room, and a café and lounge. The community was designed and built to meet LEED Silver standards. This was our third project with LCB Senior Living. Architect: The Architectural Team Photographer: Design Imaging Studios
