We are overwhelmed with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible outpouring of support we received on Giving Tuesday and the few we have received thereafter. Your generosity is making a profound impact on the lives of foster children, and we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks. Your donations are more than financial contributions; they are acts of kindness that create ripples of positive change. Your belief in our mission fuels our commitment to creating a brighter future for every child in foster care. Together we raised $3,129. Thank you to all the supporters including former & current foster parents, staff, and board members!

Dear Community Connections Supporters:? ? After over 22 years of service as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Community Connections, I am resigning when a new Executive Director is identified or by the end of this year. I am grateful to have worked alongside such an incredible team of social workers, foster families, and community advocates who have demonstrated commitment and dedication in the most challenging of circumstances.? ? I have seen our nonprofit agency grow from humble beginnings to a team of 16 and have witnessed firsthand how our mission is met each day supporting Georgia’s children in foster care ensuring they have safe and loving homes. I am proud to have led our agency in reuniting hundreds of children with their birth families, and when reunification was not possible, facilitating over one hundred adoptions by their foster families. I am appreciative of our generous supporters who contribute to our annual traditions and fundraisers to support children in foster care, including new spring outfits, backpacks, fall coats, diapers, and holiday gifts. Financially, we have accumulated significant savings across my 20+ years. We will continue to provide a strong base from which the organization is positioned to have multiple strategic options for growth as a new leader guides the organization into its next chapter.? ? During my remaining time at Community Connections, I will be working in partnership with the Board of Directors throughout their search for a new Executive Director.?To those who make the choice each day to work in child welfare, please continue to carry on this important work and know the lasting impact you are making in the lives of children and families impacted by foster care.?? ? If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at (404) 406-8584 or?[email protected]. Our entire team at Community Connections will continue to be available throughout this transition, including: Tom Covington, Director of Placement Services,?at (678) 308-9319 or?[email protected] Diane Jackson, Director of Recruiting & Training, at (404) 401-0123 or?[email protected]. ? Sincerely, Karen Jackson, LMSW Executive Director?
