This unassuming structure in the middle of an aircraft hangar is no ordinary space... Within these walls lies the infrastructure for a cutting-edge quantum computing lab at the Innovare Advancement Center in Rome, NY. This facility is designed to unite government, industry, and academia to advance emerging technologies critical to national security. Quantum computing is an innovative technology that uses qubits—a quantum-mechanical system capable of representing multiple states simultaneously—to solve complex problems far more efficiently than classical computers. C&S designed and constructed the 2000 sq. ft. lab with advanced environmental control features. A humidity control system and electrostatic dissipating epoxy floor maintain a Zero electrostatic environment, while black walls and ceilings absorb stray light. A massive grid of 60 cord reels hangs above a 150' grounding bar, with C&S self-performing all mechanical work, including piping, ductwork, and HVAC. This new space will drive groundbreaking innovations that were once the stuff of science fiction, and we're proud to have played a role in its success. Welcome to sticky note organization paradise: the Pull Session. As the massive STEAM High School project in Syracuse, New York, nears completion, the construction management team at C&S is ensuring smooth coordination by bringing contractors together to visualize the tasks ahead and discuss potential challenges. "Each contractor puts their tasks on sticky notes, and we, as a group, arrange them in the proper sequence for each area of the building," said Tim Brown, Senior Project Manager for the STEAM project. "It’s a tactile way to see what everyone else is doing and what needs to be completed before each contractor can begin their own work in the space." The Syracuse STEAM High School is the region's first-ever high school focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). It aims to provide a rigorous academic curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities to prepare students for careers in high-growth fields. Burns Brothers Plumbing, Patricia Electric, Inc., Crosby-Brownlie, Inc., and Murnane Building Contractors, Inc. were in attendance as the prime contractors on the project. #cscosprojects #constructionmanagement #steam

Our very own Frank Mento, PE proudly represented us at the 2025 NYSCHSA Advocacy Day, championing the cause for better local transportation infrastructure. "Local roads, bridges, culverts, and transportation infrastructure are essential; they form the building blocks for strong, healthy, and vibrant communities. Every year, we join municipal representatives—professional county and town public works leaders—from across the state who advocate for needed funding and work tirelessly for the traveling public. They and their teams give of themselves with a hometown heart and a can-do spirit. They are the keepers and stewards of the state’s local highway network. They plan, design, construct, and maintain transportation infrastructure without fanfare but with undying responsibility and exhaustive commitment.
