Next up for Benzinga is their huge Chicago event this June which is sure to be a must attend. Earlier in my career, I was networking the wrong way - powering through conferences and networking events like a business card dispenser on speed while establishing little to no connections of real substance. Lately I've learned to leverage networking events as an opportunity to plan ahead and either catch up with old connections that I haven't seen in a while or meet warm contacts that I've never had the pleasure of seeing face-to-face before. As a result I've enjoyed the conversations much more, slowing down and listening twice as much as speaking. And the monetary results have been there as well, as about 60% of our closed business originates from in-person interactions. Here's a recap of the last week of events: ?
