Julie brings the insight and rigor you've come to love from Top of Mind, and we think you'll love Uncomfy, too. You'll be further delighted to know that Julie's first guest is our very own Lisa Clark, sharing a story about a flash mob gone wrong that you won't want to miss. We would like to recognize some of our student employees who have secured summer internships. Alex Amrine, who has been working with our Sports Production team, will be spending this summer in New York City with CBS Sports. Braxton Anderson, one of our HR specialists, is interning with the non-profit association Lapromotora in Valencia, Spain. Our students at BYU Broadcasting consistently demonstrate excellence, and we look forward to witnessing their continued success and the contributions they will make in the coming months. #internship

As Women’s History Month draws to a close, we were proud to have Jillian Arnold as our March professional development speaker. In addition to being an award-winning video engineer specializing in live television, Jillian is also the first female president of IATSE Local 695. During her enlightening presentation, Jillian shared insights on bridging generational and cultural gaps, emphasizing the importance of change and perseverance. She stressed the significance of advocating for oneself and understanding one's own value through personal narratives detailing her career journey and aspirations. Having Jillian address BYU Broadcasting was truly a privilege. Her invaluable experiences not only provided a glimpse into the world of cinematography but also served as a testament to exemplary leadership. Thank you, Jillian, for inspiring us all!

BYU Broadcasting was honored to recently host Greg Whiteley, the visionary filmmaker behind some of Netflix’s most compelling documentaries, during our professional development series. Greg engaged our team with his insights into the dynamic world of storytelling, shedding light on the art and craft of documentary filmmaking. During his remarks, he emphasized the importance of authenticity, perseverance, and channeling our individual creativity. It was fascinating to gain a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that goes into producing such impactful documentaries. He also expressed the need to be creatively flexible when overcoming obstacles and being adaptive to the natural flow of storytelling. ? His visit not only broadened our perspective on the industry but also fueled our passion for storytelling and the potential it has to drive positive change. We are looking forward to applying these valuable insights to our own creative endeavors!

Constant Wonder brings you an "audio advent calendar," with a new "door" to open every day, from the 1st to the 25th of December. Enjoy these short (10-minute) episodes with your family! #constantwonder?#byuradio?#christmas2023?#familytime Each short episode invites peaceful reflection on the season, inspired by Nature’s miraculous phenomena (from a turtle hibernating through the cold of winter to tree sap that solidifies into frankincense)--as well as music and art traditionally connected with the biblical story of the Nativity. Woven into this Constant Wonder series are universal themes of compassion, hopeful living, connection with the divine, and a deep sense of purpose to our existence. In harmony with the season, these special episodes will provide a day-to-day sanctuary of profound connection to the awe and wonder available all around us—encounters with all nature, human or wild, vast or small–transcendent experiences that move us beyond words.
