Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is increasingly becoming prone to attacks. Social engineering and phishing awareness training for employees is key. Here are some cybersecurity measures that can complement MFA and strengthen your account security: ? Use biometrics authentication ? Ensure strong password policy's are in place ? Avoid SMS-based authentication factors where possible. SMS OTPs are one of the most easily compromised 2FA codes. ? Opt for one-time time based-passwords (TOTP) to reduce the amount of time hackers have to brute force access or log in following a successful phishing attempt ? restrictions on the number of unsuccessful MFA login attempts that a user can make.? ? Use biometric authentication as at least one factor of authentication Furthermore, companies and users alike must seek to employ a comprehensive defense-in-depth strategy to protect their sensitive data. A sound Defense-in-Depth strategy will help mitigate the damage a threat actor can cause if they are able to bypass a user's 2FA and gain access to their system. (https://lnkd.in/eUPHsRRp)
