?? Honoring Dr. Hazel N. Dukes ?? Dr. Dukes is a living testament to resilience, advocacy, and unwavering service to the community. From fighting housing discrimination on Long Island to working with President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Head Start program in the 1960s, she has spent decades paving the way for change. As the first Black employee at the Nassau County Attorney’s Office and a passionate community organizer, her impact is immeasurable. Her words remind us that even in moments of weariness, there is purpose. That true leadership is about lifting others as we climb. That making a difference—no matter how small—ensures our legacy lives on. Let her story inspire you to push forward, stand for what’s right, and be the change your community needs. ???????
