Last week, 25 senior delegates gathered in Phuket to embark on their seven-month journey from March to October. Centred around ‘Leading self, Leading teams, Leading organisations’, the robust programme is designed to develop senior leadership capabilities across the BW network. Voyager aims to foster strong networks at senior levels, increase knowledge sharing, and contribute to leadership development across our BW companies. In the first module, delegates explored topics such as self-awareness, strategic thinking, and leading change. Over the course of the programme, delegates will have opportunities to build connections with CEOs, Executive Committee and Board members, work on a strategic business group project, and learn from masterclasses led by internal and external leaders. At BW, we recognize the far-reaching impact leadership has on our businesses and people globally, and invest in developing values driven leaders. This landmark project is the largest battery energy storage system in UK – marking a major step in energising the country’s clean energy transition???? ? BW ESS hosted the inauguration ceremony yesterday with key industry partners and stakeholders, including the Rt Hon Lord James Arbuthnot. The project was officially inaugurated by BW Group Chairman Andreas Sohmen-Pao, BW ESS CEO Erik Str?ms? and Head of UK Richard Thwaites. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone! Bramley BESS is a market-first, pioneering a new revenue model for battery storage in Europe through our tolling agreement with Shell Energy Europe Limited. Equipped with Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd.’s advanced PowerTitan 2.0 technology, this project reinforces our commitment to unlocking the value of energy storage at scale, integrate more renewables and enhance grid resilience. Celebrating BW Opal – A milestone in innovation and collaboration??? On Saturday 15 February 2025, BW Offshore celebrated a major milestone with the naming ceremony of BW Opal, one of the most advanced FPSO units in the industry. The event took place at Seatrium yard in Singapore, bringing together over 125 guests, including representatives from Santos Ltd, the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore and BW Group. This significant occasion symbolizes years of dedication, resilience, and collaboration across BW Offshore, partners, and subcontractors. From the first contract signing in 2020 to overcoming pandemic-driven challenges, global supply chain disruptions, and complex engineering feats, BW Opal stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. The BW Opal FPSO is among the largest and most technically advanced ever built, featuring a 358m hull, 850MMSCFD gas handling capacity, and 45,000-ton topsides. With sustainability at its core, it incorporates energy-efficient technologies that reduce CO? emissions by 15%, saving up to 2.3 million tonnes over its lifespan. Its combined-cycle gas turbines with waste heat recovery cut energy consumption by up to 66%, maximizing both efficiency and environmental performance. We thank every team member, contractor, and partner who played a role in making this project a success!
