Blanchard Valley Health System has found a home in the sprawling landscape of northwest Ohio. The organization has grown from a single hospital to a comprehensive health system offering a full continuum of care. BVHS continues to grow! Currently, the system serves an eight county area including Hancock, Allen, Putnam, Henry, Wood, Seneca, Wyandot and Hardin. However, the service areas continue to expand as the need for better health care access is identified. Today, BVHS employs more than 3,000 associates. Access to health care is a priority to our family of professionals. Health system medical practices dot the region as specialists rotate through communities. A big congratulations to Blanchard Valley Health System’s October DAISY Award team honorees: Lisa Gerwin, RN, Megan Clouse, RN, Shauna Pessel, RN, Jadin Callaway, RN, Erica Wallen, RN, Karrie Savage, RN, Jodi Morman, RN, Holly Goodwin, RN, and Maggie Schroeder, RN, in the Special Care Nursery at Blanchard Valley Hospital! ?? These talented and caring nursing professionals were caring for a baby girl born at Blanchard Valley Hospital and being adopted by a couple from further away. The adoption process can be complex and uncertain. However, this warm and inviting nursing staff showed great care for all parties involved, fostering an environment of trust and kindness. They served as advocates, assisting with communication between the couple and the birth mother, educating the brand-new parents, and answering every question with patience and expertise. The nominator even stated, “I have been a nurse for over 13 years in pediatrics and am the DAISY coordinator at my hospital. This team is the gold standard of what it means to demonstrate what exceptional nursing care is.” Way to go, BVHS Special Care Nursery team! You all rock! ??
