The past 72 hours have been a whirlwind as we officially announced the acquisition of BUZZD Nutrition. After an early flight to Vancouver yesterday to transfer physical assets (I was in the city for less than 8 hours) I’m thrilled to welcome Buzzd into the Sarjesa family. Reflecting on some powerful moments: 1. Honoring the Buzzd Legacy It takes extraordinary people to grow a brand to the point of acquisition, and I’m grateful to have had the privilege of working with Lauren Burrows (Bensadoun), MBA and Alex Burrows over the past two years. I know It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to something so special, yet I feel honored to carry on the Buzzd mission. Bringing the new banners in our office has been a proud moment – the team is already inspired by the story behind Buzzd. 2. Celebrating Friendships That Endure My friend Talia Morrell has been a cornerstone in my journey, from my first tea sale to the first shareholder buyout in my first tea brand. Her support through all of Sarjesa’s milestones means the world. Watching Talia continue to grow professionally is inspiring – she’s truly a powerhouse in every sense. 3. Insightful Collaboration on Growth Meeting with Niki Young over lunch was a breath of fresh air. She listened to our wins and challenges with equipment and procurement and shared invaluable insights that will help shape our sourcing and buying strategy. It’s exciting to watch this part of our business evolve with the hard work of Jasmine Navarro! 4. Strategizing with My Right Hand Emilee, who has been by my side nearly every step of the way, picked me up from the airport, and we dove right into big-picture planning. From budgets to resource allocation across brands, our conversation laid the foundation for what’s ahead. There’s something irreplaceable about strategizing in person with someone who knows your vision inside and out. This week has been a profound reminder of the power of teamwork and the impact of community as we grow. We’ve still got a few tasks to complete, but I am so looking forward to get to know the community around the brand. Excited for this next chapter for Sarjesa and Buzzd!
