    Chester Dewitt, Outreach Community Liaison for the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, recently joined the "Handshake Initiative" at Providence schools, greeting students and showing them that success knows no bounds. “This initiative is deeply meaningful to me because it not only gives back to the community but also ensures students start their day with a smile, reinforcing the importance of education and showing them that they are backed by caring leaders,” says Dewitt.

  • Protecting Mental Health Butler Hospital hosted Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressmen Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo, medical professionals, and advocates for a press conference discussing the devastating impact proposed Medicaid cuts would have on behavioral and mental health care. Medicaid provides critical support for more than 300,000 Rhode Islanders, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Cutting these essential services would leave countless people without the care they need.
