A Tampa bank executive has turned a new page as a published author. Chris Kneer doggedly pursues a side career as an author of thriller novels, with Tampa Bay as a core character. His recently published first novel, “Bluebird," is the first Cigar City Thriller in an upcoming series that sold 250 copies in the first week.

The men’s pre-professional soccer team in Sarasota has named its first head of revenue. David Herman will lead revenue initiatives such as building sponsorships and growing ticket sales for the Sarasota Paradise, a League Two team within the United Soccer League. He will also work on solidifying the club’s identity and expanding merchandise.

Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Investment Management, is taking over for Cheeseology founder Paul Hays, who was in the role for six years. Kellen Carter, corporate counsel and chief compliance officer at ARK. In his new role, he will initiate an incubator partnership board.

After more than 30 years at the helm of the architecture firm bearing his name, Clifford M. Scholz will step down as president of Clifford M. Scholz Architects (CMSA). The Sarasota architecture firm has helped design spaces from the local Jaguar and Lexus dealerships to Plantation Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers since Scholz founded CMSA in 1992. Scholz will transition out of his leadership role on Dec. 31 and continue as a design consultant in a limited capacity, according to a statement.

Michael Stephens, the longtime legal counsel at Tampa International Airport, has been chosen as the organization’s new CEO and will take over for the retiring Joe Lopano. Stephens, 52, was chosen to run the organization Tuesday morning by the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority’s board of directors. His compensation and an official start date have yet to be negotiated, according to a statement from the airport. https://lnkd.in/e3R_t6zb
