Kathleen Dial, Executive Director of Development Services for Lake County, presented an economic update to the South Lake Chamber of Commerce at their March meeting. Attendees enjoyed learning about the important work Lake County is engaged in to create opportunities for its residents.

This week, we are proud to highlight our partner, Beacon College! The college focuses on serving neurodiverse students to assist them in gaining the skills and opportunities needed for successful careers. As a leader in education for neurodiverse students, Beacon College equips its graduates with the confidence and training to thrive in the workforce. Through various workforce readiness programs, specialized support services, and strong connections with local businesses, they help students find their place in the local economy while providing education that fits different learning needs. We’re excited to work alongside Beacon College to help strengthen Lake County’s workforce.?

We are proud to work alongside Cenfluence to support local businesses and drive economic growth. Through their specialized business clusters, Cenfluence helps connect companies with industry networks, shared resources, and new opportunities for collaboration. By working together, we’re strengthening Lake County’s position in key industries and helping businesses access the tools they need to innovate and expand. This partnership is another step toward building a thriving business community and a stronger regional economy.

Our team was grateful to be a part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hunter Agriculture's newly expanded manufacturing facility in Clermont. This expansion not only enhances production capabilities and creates new jobs but also introduces an education center that will welcome visitors and support the local economy. A special moment of the day was the dedication of the facility’s new entrance, 1963 Healy Way, in honor of Andy and Mark Healy, whose decades of leadership and generosity have left a lasting impact on both the company and the Lake County community.?

The Lake County Office of Economic Development attended an event hosted by Lake Economic Area Development (LEAD) Partnership as the capstone to LEAD’s site selectors gathering. This event brought professionals from across the country to explore everything Lake County offers. The event gave attendees the unique opportunity to hear directly from site selectors and receive valuable feedback on the communities they serve. This collaboration further highlights Lake County’s commitment to attracting new businesses and fostering economic growth, ensuring our region remains a competitive destination for investment.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is extending the physical damage loan deadline for disaster declarations affected by the 2024 federal funding lapse.?Lake County is among the counties covered by the disaster declaration and the extension.
