?? TTC Group appoints public sector director ?? Driver training and risk management company TTC Group has hired a new public sector director. Kylie Wilson was formerly a detective in public protection for the Metropolitan Police, and was part of the New Scotland Yard Crime Academy for detective training. Wilson said: "Having worked in the public sector for over 15 years, supporting a wide range of organisations, I look forward to the new challenge of building relationships that will support a broad range of employee compliance and training programmes." The new rates include reductions across the board for cars with petrol or diesel engines. ?? Venson survey reveals risky driver behaviour ?? One in ten drivers admit to frequently engaging in unsafe driving behaviour such as tailgating, risky overtaking, and failing to check their mirrors sufficiently. Research by Venson Automotive Solutions Limited Solutions also found that many more drivers admitted to doing these things occasionally. Venson client management director Simon Staton said:?“RoSPA figures suggest that ten to fifteen times more people are killed on the roads than in the workplace, so when the road is the workplace, businesses must take their duty of care seriously to protect drivers." ?? Soaring pothole claim numbers uncovered by RAC ?? The amount of pothole compensation claims submitted to UK local authorities more than doubled between 2022 and 2023, according to research by the RAC. The motoring organisation said that among 18 councils that responded to a Freedom of Information request, the number of claims submitted increased from 8,327 to 20,432. RAC head of policy Simon Williams said: “These findings are a stark reminder that the ongoing poor condition of many of the UK’s local roads is burning holes in the budgets of both local authorities and drivers." ?? Employer EV resistance increasing despite reduced barriers to adoption, drivers tell Europcar ?? Challenges with EV adoption, including cost, charging infrastructure, and vehicle choice, are easing for employers – but despite this, their resistance to fleet electrification is increasing, according to drivers surveyed by Europcar Mobility Group for its latest EV Barometer research.
