Important Update for CDL Holders and Companies who employ CDL Holders: Starting November 18, 2024, under the FMCSA’s Clearinghouse-II rule, State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs) must remove commercial driving privileges for drivers flagged as “prohibited” in the Clearinghouse. This means that a CDL could be downgraded until the driver successfully completes the return-to-duty (RTD) process. Key Requirements: ?? SDLAs must check the Clearinghouse before issuing, renewing, upgrading, or transferring CDLs or CLPs. ?? SDLAs will also need to review driver records when notified of a status change by the FMCSA. Note: SDLAs with the necessary legislative authority can choose to voluntarily implement these Clearinghouse checks and downgrades before the November 18 deadline. ??
