Both our speakers are skilled celebrity makeup artists working with stars like Selena Gomez and Alix Earle, and content creators. They shared their insights on what it’s really like to be a beauty influencer on social media, the steps they took to get where they are today, and shared tips for our members to follow in their digital footsteps! This past Thursday, October 17th, BCC had the incredible opportunity to host Lauren Ireland, one of the Co-Founders of Summer Fridays! Lauren is an impressive leader and trend-setter in the beauty community. She shared integral advice to those who want to grow their own brand to the success she has amassed so far. She also provided insight on the inner workings of Summer Fridays and what makes this brand a cult classic to so many people. It’s difficult to maintain a perfect work-life balance, but Lauren reminds us all to stay present in the moment and take it all one step at a time—of course, with the help of your community. BCC is back on campus for Fall 2024, and we are booked and busy! So, what have we been up to? This week’s highlights include our Avatar Pop-up event, and volunteering opportunities at the BIW Emerge Awards, and Tower 28’s Clean Beauty Summer School (CBSS). Our Avatara Personal Care, LLC Pop-up on Trousdale was a hit, allowing us to not only connect with the USC community but also distribute free skincare samples and fun goodies. The event's fantastic turn-out was a testament to our growing BCC family. We had the incredible opportunity to help set up the Beauty Industry West (BIW) Emerge Awards in West Hollywood, an event honoring the beauty industry's inspiring and innovative leaders. One of our highlights was listening to the CEO of Versed, Kerry Sullivan, share her insights on navigating this ever-changing industry! Lastly, we volunteered at Tower 28 Beauty, Inc.'s Clean Summer School (CBSS), a program dedicated to empowering minority-owned, clean beauty businesses. Over two days at IPSY's HQ, we gained an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at a program championing sustainability and inclusivity. It was an incredible experience to listen in on beauty panels featuring industry leaders like Amy Liu, founder of Tower 28, and Marianna Hewitt, co-founder of Summer Fridays, and learn from the experts shaping the future of beauty! BCC is incredibly grateful for these insightful opportunities. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these experiences possible. Your continued support means the world to us. If you are a Trojan on campus, make sure to join BCC to see what we have in store for the rest of the semester! Fight on! ?

Amy provided our members with valuable insights about entrepreneurship. Amy’s educational background and prior experience in the beauty space allowed her to develop the skills required to create Tower28. She emphasized the essence of a strong brand mission, as exemplified by her company's commitment to aiding those with sensitive skin through clean beauty. Finally, on April 4th, we hosted Laura Lam-Phaure and Claudia Lui for our Product Development in Beauty Panel.
