? The Association of Fundraising Professionals Texas A&M University Chapter partnered with us last week to put on a great National Philanthropy Day event! We're so grateful for the Texas A&M University - The Bush School of Government and Public Service students who stopped to share the reasons they give. ?? A big thank you to our amazing guest speakers, Gabriela Barberena, MPSA-NPM, Nicole Gabler, CFRE, Lean Belt, CNP, MPA, and Zayra Yaneli Gomez, MPA, for sharing their insights and experiences at our most recent student Lunch & Learn, titled Navigating the Transition from Classroom to Workforce! ?? Attendees engaged in an informative and captivating conversation about navigating careers in the nonprofit sector. ?? CNP student coordinator, Yovanka C. Gonzalez shared, “I was so fortunate to attend and organize this lunch and learn that connected me with current nonprofit professionals who had attended the Bush School. Through our conversation, I was able to understand the steps toward achieving my career goals with realistic approaches. It is vital for students to know that their nonprofit careers are viable, profitable, and a true demonstration of public service is a noble calling.” Programs like this allow students to navigate the nonprofit workforce with confidence, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to the field. We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Elizabeth "Liz" Darling. Darling was an early supporter of the Center for Nonprofits & Philanthropy and contributed significantly to the nonprofit sector in Texas and beyond. In 2019, Darling served as a distinguished panelist for our Bank of America Program on Volunteerism, where she expressed her unique insight and perspective on volunteerism across the state of Texas. Elizabeth Darling's contributions, perspective, and knowledge will be dearly missed. "She was a passionate champion for the nonprofit sector and was an early supporter of the Center for Nonprofits & Philanthropy. CNP's Director of Philanthropic Initiatives and Capacity Building, Dr. Angela Seaworth, ACFRE, recently shared her insights on capacity building through collaboration with a group of nonprofit executives ??.
