The plaintiff had made a $4 million settlement demand and asked the jury for $2.7M, including nearly $600K in medical expenses—but the jury returned a finding of no liability on causation in under 15 minutes. Team Thibodeaux is happy to announce another successful outcome. This one was achieved by team member, Joseph Munoz! Joseph recently secured a full dismissal of a complex case involving a tractor trailer accident. Representing the tractor-trailer leasing company, Joseph prepared a Motion for Summary Judgment related to the Grave’s Amendment. As a result of thorough research, including assertions of the Grave’s Amendment in the Answer, obtaining favorable deposition testimony, and presenting the Motion for Summary Judgment, Joseph was successful in persuading opposing counsel to voluntarily dismiss the claims, against the leasing company without any financial payment.
